Photographer Speak

I was driving along one day when it occured to me that we photographers speak a weird language. Consider these words commonly used in a room full of photographers:

f/stop

apeture

shutter speed

ISO

ambient light

strobes

depth of field

dynamic range

histogram

bounce or "foof"

chimp (not the monkey variety)

levels/curves tweak

etc..... etc..... etc......

Yea, we're a bunch of weirdos.

Everytime I hear someone say F-stop, I get slightly offended for just a second until I remember that we're talking about photography! :)

yeah we are and if you've paid attention we sound really bad too, I want to shoot your kid, we had a shoot out the other day. I like to shoot from the side, and stuff like that. We sound really bad you know?:)
